August Update

Annual Online Auction

We are currently collecting items for our fourth annual online auction! Think gift certificates, crafts, artwork, jewelry, electronics, gift baskets, vacation stays, etc. Please email us at hope@peaceforpaulfoundation.org if you are able to donate! We just need a photo of the item and some basic info by late September. Also, if you're looking for a volunteer opportunity we'd LOVE it if you found five people to donate an item to the auction! We want this year's auction to be the biggest success yet! THANK YOU!

Sponsorship Opportunities

1. We are currently looking for sponsors for several girls we are hoping to assist. Many of these girls have been living on the streets or slums and are going without schooling. They have little access to food, clean drinking water and toilet facilities. Most of them are orphaned as well. We have several sponsors lined up (thank you!!!), but we are in need of more. Sponsorship is $65 per month for a half sponsor and $130 per month for a full. Sponsorship covers boarding school fees, clothes, food, medical (general, dental, mental), and much more.

"SAVE A GIRL, SAVE A GENERATION."

"Did you know that right now, 62 million girls around the world are not in school, and in some countries, fewer than ten percent of girls complete high school (as compared to 85 percent in the U.S.)?

Did you know that when girls are educated, they go on to earn higher wages, get married later, and have healthier children who are more likely to attend school themselves?

So you might be wondering: why on earth are so many girls worldwide not in school?"

Read more here.

Please let us know if you're interested in helping us with this important cause. You can email hope@peaceforpaulfoundation.org for more information.

2. We are also in need of a sponsor for one of our awesome kids, Alex. You can read about Alex here. Sponsorship details are the same as above. Alex will need a sponsor beginning December 2014.

3. Lastly, we are on the lookout for more PFP Jr. sponsors. The new PFPJ program allows us to help a larger number of needy Ugandan children obtain an education. The children who benefit from our PFP Junior Program live in our neighborhood and are unable to afford school fees, uniform fees and school supplies. Because they have families to look after them, these children will not be living in our home. Rather, these children will live with their families and be sponsored through PFP for education costs only.

Sponsorship is $31/month. Imagine the difference that will make! Please consider sponsoring one of our new kids. Contact us at hope@peaceforpaulfoundation.org if you have any questions regarding this opportunity.

Kids Helping Kids

A young man named Elijah just finished his Eagle Scout project, for which he collected soccer gear for our PFP kids! He collected 29 soccer balls, cleats, shin guards, shorts and jerseys. Thank you so much Elijah!!! And congrats on becoming an Eagle Scout! That is a huge and fantastic accomplishment. Thanks to your troop as well.

It's been amazing to hear about all of the wonderful kids in the US and Canada reaching out to help our kids in Uganda. This month two boys named Nick and Jack donated $190 of their birthday money to help all of our kids get their hearing and vision tested! This is crucial for school performance and we really appreciate their contribution! THANK YOU NICK AND JACK! YOU ROCK!

    Newest Members

We would like to officially welcome David Silverman, Janie Routh and Martin Eason as PFP Members! We look forward to working with you.

    Peace Home Makeover!

Peace Home's (PFP's girls' home) interior was painted in fun, bright colors while the kids were away at school. They are back now and of course they are ecstatic. Here are some photos.

Thank you to David and Eileen Collete, Sandy Jacobs, and Marybeth Parrot! These supporters made this possible by donating to the auction last year!!! Ugandan Director Emma will lead the mural project this month and we will have photos for you on next month's blog post. The girls are really excited!

    Question of the Month

Each month we would like to reach out to our supporters and sponsors in hopes that you would be willing to provide feedback to better our organization. This month's question has to do with our social media. We recently joined Twitter and Instagram (see below) and have been on Facebook for some time.

Question: What would you like to see us post on Twitter, Instagram, and/or Facebook? How can we better engage our supporters via social media?

Please send your responses to hope@peaceforpaulfoundation.org. Thank you!

    Social Media
