January & February Update!

Trip to Moroto

Directors Emma and Brandi took a few of the PFP children back to Moroto to visit their relatives. It was a sweet reunion and a very eye opening trip for those who hadn't been there before.

Emma and Brandi spent the majority of their time profiling children who could benefit from the PFP program. We look forward to being able to assist them in the near future. If you or someone you know is interested in sponsoring one of these sweet children please contact one of the members of the board.

First Day of School

All of the children have returned to school! Five of our youngest and two of our newer children joined the others in boarding school for the first time. They were very excited to join the "big kid" ranks.

It's All Fun and Games

We had wonderful volunteers over the last holiday who provided lots of new, exciting activities for the children. They played musical chairs, had sack races, and the volunteers painted their faces! It was like a PFP carnival! The kids had a fabulous time.

Some of the older boys challenged a local team to a soccer match. The Peace for Paul team won!!! We are very proud of them!

Current Projects

A perimeter wall is being built to enclose the children's home. This should be finished by the time the children return home for holiday.

Medical Sponsorship

We had a scare last month. Doctor Mufumba discovered a blockage in Juma's hernia and Juma had to undergo emergency medical surgery. The surgery went well and Juma is back at school with his PFP brothers and sisters. After the surgery Juma looked at Auntie Brandi and said, "Auntie! It's gone!" He was ecstatic.

This helped bring our need for Medical Sponsors to our attention. Although child sponsors cover basic medical costs (e.g. medication, routine check-ups, basic dental) for our children, we need sponsors who can cover unforeseen medical expenses when emergencies such as this arise. For example, last year two of our children broke their arms, several of our children attended counseling for PTSD, one child had to have three root canals, and one of our children had to have reconstructive surgery performed on his ear due to a chronic ear infection.

Medical sponsors would not only assist the children in emergency situations, but would also provide preventative care such as vaccinations, vitamins, counseling, and annual eye exams. This type of sponsorship would make a tremendous difference in the lives of our children.

If you are interested in being a medical sponsor for $25, $50, or $100 per month please contact Heidi at heidi@peaceforpaulfoundation.org. Thank you!
